Integrative Genomics and Bioinformatics

The Razavi Newman Integrative Genomics and Bioinformatics Core Facility

The Razavi Newman Integrative Genomics and Bioinformatics Core (IGC) specializes in the analysis of next-generation sequencing and other high-throughput genomics data. The IGC was established to assist the Salk community with the integration of genomics data into their research. The primary focus of the core is to provide analysis support for next-generation sequencing applications. The IGC offers a variety of services to suit the needs of different research groups, but is also committed to providing customized assistance to maintain the highest levels of scientific achievement for Salk researchers.

A Collaboration Between Biologists and Analysts

Since each project is different, the Razavi Newman Integrative Genomics and Bioinformatics Core Facility works by pairing a biologist with one or more analyst that helps throughout the entire discovery process. We can help you determine which experiments will allow you to answer your biological questions, will store and quality control your data (working closely with the Next-Generation Sequencing Core), perform standard and customized genomics analyses, can help develop novel tools and pipelines as needed, will submit your data to repositories or host on our servers, work with you on your manuscript and data interpretation, will help you respond to reviewer comments, can help support you in your grant and fellowship applications, and provide training on the interpretation and analysis of genomics datasets. Please contact us if you think we can help. More information is available on our wiki website.

Acknowledging Core Support

For submitting manuscripts that have made use of services or resources from this core, PLEASE ACKNOWLDGE SUPPORT by inclusion of the following information:

“This work was supported by the The Razavi Newman Integrative Genomics and Bioinformatics Core Facility of the Salk Institute with funding from NIH-NCI CCSG: P30 CA01495, NIH-NlA San Diego Nathan Shock Center P30 AG068635, and the Helmsley Trust.” Please acknowledge core staff where appropriate and consider authorship inclusion when scientific contributions merit.

Please link each publication stemming from work performed in the core to your MyNCBI account. This will ensure that the contributions from NIH are appropriately acknowledged in renewal and continuation applications. This NIH requirement must be satisfied as part of our efforts to provide consistent access to stabling funded core resources. Information on how to link publications can be found here»
